A Fair Chance For All: New Zealand Productivity Commission Inquiry

June 2023

The New Zealand Productivity Commission

The New Zealand Productivity Commission has recently released their interim report A Fair Chance for All, Breaking the cycle of persistent disadvantage. The report focuses on the public management system, looking at “upstream settings” and how current structures of government contribute to holding inequity in place.

We are pleased to see the focus of the report aligns to our work to challenge and shift the fundamental assumptions, mental models and values that underpin the current public management system, and our efforts to build public sector capability to work differently.

The report includes examples from The Lab and The Southern Initiative, including Te Tokotoru and the Early Years Implementation Learning Platform.
