Collected Resources: Foundations 2021: Design for Equity and Intergenerational Wellbeing

The Foundations programme is an online learning programme over three modules which grounds design-led practice within the context of equity and intergenerational wellbeing in Aotearoa. It looks beyond co-design to explore how we can learn and work together differently to enable transformative outcomes.

With our learning partners the program promotes patterns of values led work and increases the visibility of strengths based, culturally grounded practice that is already happening in Aotearoa. While tools and methods are helpful start points, the focus is on principles and ways of working that engage in the complexity of change and of working together differently. These are the Foundations of this emerging practice.

The core resources for this programme - Slides and Videos of the sessions are available below. The Tools Bundle includes activities you can do with your teams to explore core aspects of practice around values, reflection, evidence and outcomes. There is also a set of prompt cards and a simple mapping tool that supports teams to have generative conversations about their current capabilities and capacities, and to identify where they might want to focus future growth and development.

The Foundations Learning program was hosted by The Auckland Co-design Lab in collaboration with The Southern & Western Initiative, Ngā Aho Māori Design Professionals, Tuakana Teina Evaluation Collective and Tokona te Raki.
